Over the past year, the EdSurge Research team has engaged in a project to understand how educators are changing practices to meet the needs of all learners.
The project starts from the premise that amplifying educator voices and experiences is critical for catalyzing change in education. To that end, over the past year, we've been visiting schools, convening educators and sharing stories about the transitions they’re making, the challenges they’re facing and how they’re measuring the effectiveness of these shifts. Altogether we’ve published 60 stories and have hosted Teaching and Learning Circles (intimate, local practitioner gatherings) in 22 cities across the country. And we’ve collected hundreds of surveys and conducted interviews with educators about challenges and opportunities in teaching and learning practice.
In this report we examine common themes across the body of work for this project, offering practical insights for educational practitioners of all types.
